We love our volunteers!

Every day at the Arts Club we feel immense gratitude for our 75 volunteers, but once a year we hold a party in their honour with snacks, drinks, prizes, and a performance! This year, volunteers were invited to attend Godspell, and both the party and the show were a smash hit!

The party kicked off with a reception with food, drinks, and great conversation. Later, we were joined by members of our Board of Directors (also volunteers!), as well as Artistic Managing Director Bill Millerd and Executive Director Peter Cathie White who doled out incredible door prizes and spoke about the important role our volunteers play at the Arts Club. These volunteers are our  biggest champions and dedicate their time, enthusiasm, and unique skills to the company. They are an integral part of what we do, and we are so grateful for their continuing support. This season has been full of big events and challenging new roles and our volunteers took these on with aplomb. From reception duties, to serving and checking coats at our special events, to sealing envelopes for mailing (yes, we still send mail!), to archiving our costumes, and more recently, taking to the stage in One Man, Two Guvnors, our volunteers helped us every step of the way!

Our Board of Directors chair, Ross Paul, presented the Manulife Volunteer of the Year Award to long-time volunteer Nancy Meyer. Nancy has dedicated hundreds upon hundreds of volunteer hours to the Arts Club over the years, and volunteers both with our special events and in our offices on a weekly basis. THANK YOU Nancy! Of course, no volunteer appreciation event would be complete without a heartfelt thanks to our incredible sponsor, Manulife Insurance. Manulife provides the support we need in order to run our volunteer program, host volunteer events, and ensure that we have the volunteer support we need to run our programs! Over the past few years Manulife’s help has enabled us to expand our Volunteer Program, adding new positions, benefits, and more, and we look forward to continuing this fabulous partnership for years to come!

THANK YOU Nancy Meyer!
